George, this is a great post even though you downplay it and say that the experts know to gloss over it. Here's why. In Fox's "How to Become a Rainmaker" (or something like that) he talks about getting rid of any distractions that take away from the sale opportunity. You only have a very small window to make an impression and ANY distraction can eat up that window. That's why he cautions against the pen in the pocket (which may leak ink), drinking a dark drink (his example is coffee) right before a meeting (you might spill it on your white shirt and have them stare at it the whole time), etc. This is a must-read for anyone trying to sell themselves and I think you picked up on a common distraction that can be avoided. Kudos.

There is a resume posting site out there called youinterviewme.com that has an html editor so job seekers can format resumes and/or cover letters that look great!
