George - I think attitude is important, and I used to think it was everything. Now I realize it is actually a key differentiator, and to steal a title from John Maxwell, it's a difference maker. Attitude can't get you in the door, but if 2 people are close on paper, attitude will get the job over non-attitude and a little more technical person nearly every time, or the hiring manager will regret the decision later because the more skilled person will be more difficult to coach.
